8. O-O Qc8?
Position look: Black intends to target the h3 pawn and perhaps prepare a c5 thrust backed by the Queen; however, the intent is too obvious and leaves the Queen as an obstacle to connecting the rooks and therefore creates development problems for Black which will cost at least one full move of development ‘speed’.

15. Nf5 O-O-O
16. a3 h5
Position look: Black seeks to storm the White King and his position seems quite secure; for, what can White do to the Black King? Here is where an ‘idea’ is needed and, quickly!

20. Be3 Kb8
Position look: Chess is truly an amazing game…for within just a few moves, the situation on the board has completely flipped or changed…! Black is ahead in development yet is stalled; meanwhile, White’s bishops are aimed at the Black King, and has menacing pawns on the march! Would be nice to get the White queen to a4, closer to the enemy King; students, how could this be done?

22. Qa4 b6
23. Qa6 Nf4
Position look: White has achieved the immediate goal of placing his most powerful piece close to the enemy king! How should White proceed? Perhaps e5? Perhaps Bd4? Perhaps a rook lift?
24. c5!! Qe5
25. Bxf4 gxf4
Position look: Due to the ideas of White’s plan of attack, this game is already won and yet Black seemingly is not aware of this; students, how should White proceed?
